Frequenly Asked Questions

  • What types of complaints can our Ombuds handle?
Our Ombuds typically handle issues related to administrative actions, decision-making processes, and operations. This can include issues such as unfair treatment, lack of transparency, procedural snafus, and structural advocacy for improvement of referee working conditions.
  • How do I contact the Ombudsman Committee?
Complaints/ideas can usually be communicated in person to a committee member or members or via email at rcombudsman@refereescommission.org. We typically have committee members at all NACs and most regional events. When discussing a concern with an ombuds or sending an e-mail, It is important to provide all relevant information to ensure appropriate advice and communication of information. If your concern is time-sensitive at a NAC, you may contact our group NACLINE at rcombuds_NACLINE@zohomail.com. Your message will go to our secure NACLine channel.
  • What information do I need to provide when filing a complaint/idea?
You should provide your contact information, a clear description of your complaint/idea, and any related details. Please note that we don’t resolve disputes. If you have a complaint against an individual, we need just enough detail to help you determine where and/or with whom that complaint needs to be filed.
